Wheathampstead Parish Council owns on behalf of residents over 150 acres of open space and playing fields. We have developed a policy on our approach to maintaining these sites taking into account:
- The needs of wildlife and promoting biodiversity
- Public access
- Visual appeal

In order to maintain the sites for the benefit of all, we organise a group of volunteers known as the Wheathampstead Open Spaces Volunteers (WOSV). Information on the group can be found here.
